Pitt volleyball bounced back in a big way after a tough Friday loss at Stanford, taking control against Cal and winning in Berkeley. The Golden Bears made things interesting early by taking the first set, but the Panthers quickly found their rhythm, dominating the next three sets behind a balanced offense and stifling defense.
Sophia Gregoire emerged as the driving force for Pitt, delivering timely kills and clutch plays that kept the Panthers ahead whenever Cal threatened to gain momentum. With the team firing on all cylinders at both the net and in the back row, Pitt was able to quiet the Golden Bears’ offense and close out the match 3-1 (22-25, 25-13, 25-21, 25-12).
