MIDDLETOWN — A new Sensory Garden was unveiled on Veterans Day in Middletown Town Park in honor of former mayor and Navy veteran Ray Steele.

“The garden’s design reflects Middletown’s long-standing commitment to inclusion and accessibility, a core value that Ray Steele championed throughout his time as mayor and beyond,” a media release from Middletown Mayor Charles Harbaugh IV states. “The colorful, hand-painted rocks that bring the garden to life were created by local Frederick County students, symbolizing the creativity and connection of the next generation to their community.”

Steele’s daughters, Mendy LeVan and Pamela Steele, were on hand to dedicate the garden.
