MARION COUNTY, Texas — A Grapevine man was killed in a hunting accident in Northeast Texas, Texas Game Wardens confirmed.
According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD), wardens responded to the incident Saturday, shortly after midnight, in Marion County. The area is about two and a half hours west of Dallas.
TPWD said Jose Ramirez, 45, of Grapevine, was removing a firearm from a vehicle when it accidentally discharged, hitting him. The department said life-saving measures were performed, but Ramirez died from his injuries.
