The Boone County Fire District will host a grand opening celebration for its new Station 8 on Tuesday, inviting residents to tour the facility and meet firefighters.

The open house will run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 5905 S. Route K in Columbia.

Community members will have the opportunity to view the new station, meet local firefighters and see the equipment used to protect the area.

The facility represents the district's latest expansion to serve Boone County residents. District officials said they are eager to share the new station with the community it serves.

The event is open to all residents. No registration is required.
