The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 9:49 p.m. on Sunday for lake effect snow bands until Monday at midnight for Northern Wayne and Susquehanna County.
"Narrow bands of lake effect snow will continue to organize and impact portions of Broome, Tioga, Delaware, southern Oneida, Otsego, Susquehanna and northern Wayne counties. Road temperatures will continue to fall below freezing with snow beginning to accumulate on untreated roads and surfaces. If you are traveling this evening, watch out for snow covered and slippery roads. Higher terrain areas will see the slippery roads first. Localized accumulations up to around 1 inch are expected over the next few hours. Monitor NOAA Weather Radio for the latest information, forecasts and warnings," states the weather service.
