NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WFSB) - Families, road safety advocates, and community leaders gathered on Sunday to commemorate World Day of Remembrance for road traffic victims.
The third Sunday in November has been designated as World Day of Remembrance, an event that honors the millions killed or hurt on roads worldwide.
Newly elected Mayor Bobby Sanchez attended the New Britain commemoration. He reminded people that the city can use technology to limit unsafe driving.
“Well we’re looking at traffic cameras in numerous areas. I know that Vision Zero is pointing to school zones, but we want to also look throughout the City of New Britain, and we hear about a lot of speeding incidents, I’d like to see more cameras in those areas,” Sanchez said.
