NAUGATUCK, Conn. (WFSB) - A suspect is in custody after allegedly assaulting someone with a knife in Naugatuck on Sunday evening, police said.

The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. on Margaret Circle.

According to police, two people were hospitalized for their injuries.

Authorities could not provide any further details on what happened, but said there was no threat to the public.

Police asked the public to avoid the area while crews investigated.

Channel 3 had a crew on scene.
