Russell Westbrook has been on a roll since joining the Sacramento Kings this offseason. Though he began the year coming off the bench, he gradually earned back his position as the team’s starting point guard.
The Kings’ decision to trust in Westbrook has already proven worthwhile, as he recently climbed higher on the NBA’s All-Time Scoring List. Westbrook officially moved past both John Havlicek and Paul Pierce by securing the 18th spot on the leaderboard.
This milestone came after Westbrook delivered a performance of 14 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists on 4-of-11 shooting in Sunday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs. Despite his strong outing, Sacramento fell 110–123.
Sunday’s game marked his second start of the season. His first start came against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
