Anantnag- A 55-year-old dry fruit seller from south Kashmir’s Kulgam district died on Monday after setting himself on fire a day earlier, shortly after being questioned by police in connection with an ongoing probe into an alleged terror module linked to the November 10 Red Fort car bomb blast.
Bilal Ahmad Wani, a resident of Wanpora in Qazigund, had attempted self-immolation on Sunday morning. He was initially taken to a local hospital in Anantnag and later referred to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar, where he succumbed to critical burn injuries shortly after midnight, officials said.
Wani and his son, Jasir Bilal, had been picked up by police recently for questioning. While Bilal Ahmad was released the same day, his son — a college student — remains in custody, according to the family. The
