ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Six months after the May 16 tornado, a former St. Louis firefighter has been named the new director of the St. Louis City Emergency Management Agency.

Sources confirmed to First Alert 4 that Gregg Favre has been named to lead the agency.

Favre currently has a role with the federal government in the intelligence community, overseeing national intelligence initiatives focused on threats from international terrorism.

Former Gov. Eric Greitens appointed Favre to serve as the second in command for the Missouri Department of Public Safety, overseeing six agencies, including the State Emergency Management Agency, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the State Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Office of Homeland Security. He resigned from the role in 2018.
