A 21-year-old from Grand Forks has been identified as one of the victims of Saturday’s helicopter crash in Mosul, Iraq, the Defense Department said Sunday night.
Pfc. Sheldon R. Hawk Eagle, 21, was one of 16 soldiers killed when two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters crashed.
All the victims were members of the 101st Airborne Division, based in Fort Campbell, Ky. Hawk Eagle was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 320th Field Artillery.
The crash also injured five others.
