The New York Jets saw their modest two game winning streak halted last Thursday when they were dismantled by a clearly superior New England Patriots team, 27 – 14. The Jets put together an impressive opening drive to take an early 7 – 0 lead. After that it was all Patriots. By midway through the second quarter the Patriots were leading 14 – 7. The Jets kept the game reasonably within reach thereafter, but they never really threatened to overtake the Patriots at any point in the second half. The Patriots did what they had to do to complete a routine victory over an inferior Jets team.
