A teenage girl was "raped by two men" while walking alone on Saturday night, with police launching an urgent appeal to track down three people who helped fight off the attackers.

The girl was approached by two men while walking in Reading at around 10pm on Saturday night. Thames Valley Police say the men "tried to engage her in conversation".

According to the force, the two men and the victim walked to Prince of Wales Avenue, between Elm Park Road and Albany Road, and it was here where the young girl was attacked and raped. Police say the two offenders are "white, bald men, of slim build. and both clean shaven".

Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Sukhveer Sokhi, of Thames Valley Police, is now appealing to speak to three Good Samaritans who rushed to the aid of the victim.
