Thyme is packed with a key substance for boosting health
With coughs, colds and other winter viruses on the rise, a pharmacist has recommended a home remedy she says works - and costs less than £1. Over-the-counter pills and painkillers can help with common cold symptoms, but you can also achieve some of the same effects with natural solutions, according to pharmacist Deborah Grayson.
She said: "I swear by this mixture as it's amazing for nasal congestion, as well as sore throats and persistent coughs. You just need sprigs of fresh thyme, half a lemon and some marshmallow root, which you can easily pick up from most health stores.”
To prepare, Deborah says you need to simmer ten sprigs of fresh thyme with two teaspoons of marshmallow root and half a slice of lemon in 250ml of water. Aft
