Detroit’s true comeback is inextricably tied to the city’s literacy rate, and the improvement of the Detroit Public Schools Community District.

Without a functional school district, Detroit, especially Detroit’s neighborhoods, cannot complete a turnaround.

Detroit, a district of about 50,000, needs more than high-performing standouts like Cass Tech, Renaissance, King, Southeastern, the school at Marygrove, Bates Academy, Golightly or FLICS to thrive.
