A baby boy mauled to death by an XL bully dog at his dad's house has been named as nine-month-old Jonte William Bluck. The tot was bitten in the head by a family pet in a tragic incident in south Wales on November 2.

An inquest into Jonte's death was opened and adjourned at Gwent Coroner's Court this morning (November 17). Area coroner Rose Farmer said the provisional cause of death was given as a compressive head injury, consistent with a dog bite .

The inquest was adjourned until August next year while Gwent Police continue to investigate. A man and a woman were arrested after the fatal incident at an address on Crossway in Rogiet, Caldicot, Monmouthshire. View 2 Images
