LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Operation Christmas Child is kicking off Monday, seeking toy donations for children in need during the holiday season as part of the Samaritan’s Purse project.
Volunteers fill shoe boxes with toys, school supplies and hygiene products throughout the week-long drive.
The boxes will be shipped to children across the world who suffer from poverty, live in war-torn countries or are recovering from natural disasters.
Drop-off locations in Mid-Michigan include:
New Hope Church in Haslett
Saint Michael Catholic Church in Grand Ledge
Bethel Baptist Church in Jackson
Additional locations can be found on the Samaritan’s Purse website .
The organization has a goal of providing toys to 12 million children this year.
