FARMINGTON, CT (WFSB) - A man was charged with murdering his father in Farmington, police said.
Police identified the suspect as 31-year-old Joshua Popielarczyk.
They said they responded on Nov. 14 to a home on Birch Street for a death with suspicious circumstances.
They found a 62-year-old man in a living room with what appeared to be multiple areas of trauma. They said the injuries were later determined to be stab wounds.
The victim, identified as David Popielarczyk, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Farmington investigators, along with help from state and Avon police, determined that the death was a homicide.
Joshua Popielarczyk, the victim’s son, was taken into custody and charged with murder.
He was given a court date of Monday in Torrington.
No other details were released.
