The defense stays the course
Michigan’s defense has 24 sacks this season but had none against Northwestern after recording nine in the previous three games. Derrick Moore accounted for six of those. Also against the Wildcats, the defense didn’t generate a turnover for the first time this season. Still, the defense came through when Michigan needed it most, especially late in the game after the Wolverines’ final two back-to-back turnovers. The Wolverines forced two three-and-outs, the first on freshman Jordan Young’s critical third-down pass breakup.
