Texas can’t beat Georgia, which can’t beat Alabama, which can’t beat Oklahoma, which can’t beat Texas.
The four winningest SEC programs in history can’t get out of each other’s way here lately, allowing interloper Texas A&M to take over sole possession of first place. The Aggies — who pulled off an amazing comeback Saturday against one of the league’s downtrodden — still have to play the Longhorns in a little less than two weeks, but appear to have already clinched a spot in the College Football Playoff.
Heading into the final two weeks of the regular season, we still don’t know who will claim the two SEC championship game spots. Even one of the teams that lost Saturday continues to control its own destiny for a spot in Atlanta.
