BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Good morning!

It is another cool start to the morning, with temperatures in the 30s and 40s under a mostly fair sky.

THE NEXT 24 HOURS: Once the sun comes up and the air starts to warm, expect good sunshine with highs in the lower 70s. Many areas east of Interstate 65 could easily sit in the upper 60s this afternoon.

Overnight, temperatures will fall into the 50s again. Above-average temperatures will continue through the week with highs nearing 80 by Wednesday.

THE NEXT BIG THING : A few showers are possible beginning Wednesday as several disturbances pass by through Thursday.
