South Louisiana residents should prepare for lower visibility in their commutes as dense fog could limit visibility to less than a quarter of a mile Monday morning.

A dense fog advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. Monday, including for New Orleans, Baton Rouge and the northshore, according to the National Weather Service in New Orleans and Baton Rouge.

There were also pockets where smoke settling from smoldering agriculutural fires could settle and help create super fogs that could bring visibility to near-zero Monday morning, according to the NWS.

Drivers in the western portion of the region, including Baton Rouge, Morganza, Napoleonville, Houma and Golden Meadow, should watch out for these super fogs.
