LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
Three people were hospitalized after an ambulance crashed while transporting a patient.
According to LMPD, around 4:35 a.m. Monday, they were called to reports that a PRP ambulance had struck a tree.
It happened in the area of Estate Drive and Gagel Avenue while the ambulance was taking a patient to UofL Health, Mary & Elizabeth Hospital.
Police said there were two crew members and a patient on board when for some reason, the driver lost control and hit a tree.
All three were then taken to UofL Hospital, downtown, with non-life-threatening injuries.
The LMPD 4 th Division is handling the investigation.
