Agartala, 17 th November 2025: The timing of the daily Beating Retreat ceremony at the Akhaura-Agartala border has been revised. The event, which previously began at 4:30 PM will now start at 4 PM each day until February 2026, according to Border Security Force (BSF) officials.

The adjustment, effective from Saturday, November 15, 2025, was made due to earlier sunsets during the winter season. However, many visitors were unaware of the change and arrived at the border at the old schedule over the past two days, missing the ceremony.

BSF sources explained that such seasonal changes are routine, as sunset times advance during winter. The December–February period also coincides with peak tourist season, making the revised schedule particularly significant for visitors.
