STATEWIDE -- State Representative Laurel Libby says she will not seek re-election to the state legislature.
Instead she says she will be launching a network of organizations dedicated to educating and mobilizing grassroots Mainers and advancing a conservative Maine.
Libby’s social media posts about a transgender student participating in school sports drew national attention back in February.
She says a key part of her new effort will be to ensure Susan Collins is re-elected in 2026.
Libby released a statement saying in part “Defending this seat, and expanding conservative influence in the Maine Legislature, are critical to protecting our values from the far-left policies of Janet Mills and her accomplices."
