BOONE COUNTY, Ind. —
The Indiana National Guard has identified the soldier killed in a crash last week.
Four soldiers from Company D, 2nd Battalion, 151st Infantry Regiment were involved in a collision Friday on I-65 in Boone County, Indiana. That's northwest of Indianapolis.
The crash resulted in the death of Spc. Terry Frye, of Lafayette, Indiana. He began service with the Indiana National Guard in March 2020 as an infantryman in Frankfort, Indiana.
During his five years of service, Frye earned the National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.
The guard said the soldiers were headed from the Frankfort Armory to Camp Atterbury for training on a drill weekend at the time of the crash.
The conditions of the other three soldiers were not immediately available.
