The northbound and southbound lanes of the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway reopened with restrictions after they were closed for about an hour on Monday morning following a 3-car crash and dense fog, Causeway officials said.
Drivers on both the northbound and southbound lanes were restricted to the right lane with a speed limit of 35 miles per hour.
Shortly after 9 a.m., a 3-car crash near the 11-mile marker on the southbound lane led to its closure, said Causeway General Manager Carlton Dufrechou. There were no injuries, he said. One of the vehicles in the crash had to be towed, but the other two could be driven.
The northbound lane was closed soon after that due to extreme weather.
