PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - The Federal Aviation Administration lifted all restrictions on Sunday that were imposed at 40 major airports during the country’s longest government shutdown.
Citing safety concerns as staffing shortages grew at air traffic control facilities during the shutdown, the FAA issued an unprecedented order to limit traffic in the skies. The restrictions were in place since Nov. 7, affecting thousands of flights across the country.
Meanwhile, TSA workers received their last full paycheck in late September.
Unionized TSA workers at Portland International Airport told FOX 12 on Thursday that officers will not receive their first paycheck until sometime between Nov. 20 and Nov. 24, citing payroll processing delays. Back pay is not expected to be received all at once.
