LANSING, MI -- A Mega Millions player in Michigan was one number away from winning the grand prize, but still landed a $3 million prize over the weekend. The winner matched all five white numbers drawn -- 1-8-11-12-57 -- in the Nov. 14 drawing to win $1 million.
Because every set of Mega Millions numbers automatically has a prize multiplier attached to it, the win was increased to $3 million as that set’s multiplier was 3X.
The winning ticket was sold at the Marathon gas station located at 4421 W Centre Ave, Portage, roughly 10 miles south of Kalamazoo.
The winner has one year from the drawing date to contact the Michigan Lottery’s Player Relations division at 1-844-917-6325 to claim the prize. The prize must be claimed at Lottery headquarters in Lansing.
