PEMBROKE — The UNC Pembroke volleyball team recorded 11 service aces and added eight blocks on the way to a 3-1 (25-17, 25-18, 15-25, 25-18) victory over Shorter in the second round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament on Sunday afternoon at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court.
The sixth-seeded Braves (17-14) have now won their last four matches when playing in Pembroke and will advance to the quarterfinals of the Conference Carolinas Tournament in Bristol, Tennessee. UNCP will face No. 3 seed Emmanuel on Friday at 7:30 inside the Student Center Complex.
The seventh-seeded Hawks (16-14) snap a two game win streak and finish the season with a 7-5 record when playing on the road.
