Two occupants were able to walk to safety after the plane went down near Greenfield and McKellips roads, southwest of the airport, around 9 a.m., according to the Mesa Fire and Medical Department.
The plane damaged a block wall behind a large home and pool equipment in the backyard. City utility crews responded to the scene because the pool equipment has a gas line, but no evacuations were ordered.
The city of Mesa operates Falcon Field, which is bordered by Greenfield, Higley, McDowell and McKellips roads.
