PHOENIX — A man is dead after a crash in Phoenix, the city's police department said.
Officers responded to the area of 27th Avenue and Buckeye Road for a crash on Saturday evening. When officers got to the scene, they found two men, both drivers of the involved vehicles, with serious injuries.
One of the drivers was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and remains there. The second driver, later identified as 32-year-old Juan Pineda Ventura, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. He later died.
Police said the first man was processed for being impaired at the time of the crash, and the preliminary investigation indicates that while Pineda Ventura was in the intersection at 27th Avenue, driving from Buckeye Road, on a green light. The first driver ran the red li
