Police have issued an update on an incident in Glasgow city centre after a busy area was taped off earlier today.

We previously told how West Regent Street, near the junction with Wellington Street, was cordoned off following an emergency incident.

The road was closed at around 3.35pm on Monday, November 17, and emergency services were called to the scene.

Officers have now confirmed that two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle . One person has been taken to hospital for treatment - the nature of their injuries remains unknown.

The other was checked by paramedics at the scene.

Police say the road has now reopened and an investigation is underway.
