Bridgeport Hospital

By Josh Lanier From Daily Voice

A new national report has graded Fairfield County hospitals on their ability to protect patients from preventable harm. Several local facilities emerged with impressive grades, while some fell short of previous reviews.

The Leapfrog Group releases its report twice a year for 3,000 hospitals nationwide. The watchdog group grades hospitals A through F on their performance in preventing medical errors, infections, and patient injuries.

There are their scores for Fall 2025. Click the hospital to view the individual report cards.

Bridgeport Hospital — B

The hospital held onto its B from the spring review. That was up from two Cs last year.

Bridgeport Hospital Milford Campus — C

The hospital received a B in the spring with three preceding Cs.

Danbury Hospital — A

This is the hospital's second A grade in a row, following four Cs from previous years.

Greenwich Hospital — A

An increase from a B in the spring and fall reviews last year.

Norwalk Hospital — B

This was a step down from an A last fall, but a marked improvement from the Cs Leapfrog gave the hospital in all of 2022 and spring 2023.

Stamford Health — B

This is the first B for Stamford Health, which has received an A for each review since 2022.

St. Vincent's Medical Center — A
