MURDER: Avon Son, 31, Stabbed Dad Dead In Farmington Living Room, Cops Say

A Connecticut man is accused of fatally stabbing his father inside his Farmington home, authorities said. 

Joshua Popielarczyk, 31, of Avon, repeatedly stabbed his father, David Popielarczyk, on Friday, Nov. 14, inside a Birch Street home, Farmington police said. Joshua was arrested the following day. 

Farmington police said they received a call around 4 p.m. about a suspicious death. 

Connecticut State Police, the Avon Police Department, the Office of the State’s Attorney for the Litchfield Judicial District, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner all assisted in the Farmington detectives' investigation.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing. Police did not release any further information to preserve the inquiry. 

Joshua Popielarczyk will be arraigned on Monday in Torrington.
