The team is making a quarterback change, opting to go with the veteran backup over Justin Fields following a Thursday Night Football defeat against the New England Patriots , NFL Media's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported on Monday.

Fields went 15-for-26 with 116 passing yards, a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown in New England, and the Jets' passing offense has failed to take off all season. The team is dead last in the NFL in passing yards per game (139.9) through 11 weeks after agreeing to a two-year, $40 million contract with Fields this offseason.
