In the life of ousted Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the date “November 17" will always hold a special place as it was on this date she got married, and after 58 years she was handed the death sentence on the same date.

Hasina was married to MA Wazed Miah, an eminent Bangladeshi physicist, on November 17, 1967.

The verdict for Hasina over “crimes against humanity" was originally planned for November 14, after finishing the trial on October 23, but the date of verdict and sentencing was later changed to November 17.

The change in dates and handing out the verdict on the same date as her marriage anniversary has garnered various reactions on social media.
