ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Don’t expect Michigan running back Justice Haynes to return for these final two games.
Haynes, who recently had surgery to repair a foot injury, is “probably” out for the Wolverines’ game Saturday at Maryland and the regular-season finale against Ohio State, head coach Sherrone Moore told reporters on Monday.
Moore’s comments come after FOX’s Gus Johnson told viewers during Michigan’s 24-22 win over Northwestern that Haynes would miss the remainder of the season.
When asked to clarify, Moore wouldn’t rule out a return during the postseason. Michigan (8-2, 6-1 Big Ten) ranked 18th in the College Football Playoff poll last week, and will need to win its final two games to get into the 12-team field.
“Done for the year? I wouldn’t put him in that category,” Moore said.
