CTA’s holiday train and bus are coming to town.

This year’s freshly redecorated CTA holiday bus hits the road Nov. 25, traveling across 19 routes though Dec. 20. The holiday train hits the rails from Nov. 28 through Dec. 22.

The holiday train features six decorated passenger railcars and one open flatcar carrying Santa in his sleigh. The holiday bus has a new gingerbread house-themed layout with a Gingerbread Court with Santa’s chair in the rear of the bus.

The holiday train traces its roots to the Blue Line in 1992, when a Season’s Greetings sign was placed on the front of an out-of-service train used to deliver food to various charities, according to the CTA.
