DENHAM SPRINGS, La. (WAFB) - The Denham Springs Police Department is investigating after a restaurant employee was robbed at gunpoint on Friday, Nov. 14.

According to police, the armed robbery happened around 11:20 a.m. in the parking lot of Off the Hook on South Range Avenue in Denham Springs.

Officials said a man dressed entirely in black and wearing a hoodie and mask approached an employee, who was returning from the bank, and demanded money at gunpoint.

He allegedly took $500 in cash.

Officials said the masked robber then entered a dark colored late-model Chevrolet Silverado where another person was waiting, and they fled the scene heading south on South Range Avenue.

According to police, the robber may have followed the employee from the bank to the Off the Hook parking lot.
