ROCHESTER, Minn. – A plea deal is reached with a man accused of waving a gun around and assaulting a woman.
A trial for James Robert Conway, 40 of Rochester, was scheduled to start Monday in Olmsted County District Court. He was charged with second-degree assault, possession of a firearm after being convicted of a crime of violence, fifth-degree assault, and first-degree damage to property.
Conway was arrested after an incident on January 26, 2024, at an apartment complex in the 300 block of 31st Street NE. Law enforcement says a 25-year-old woman was at an apartment with friends when Conway came in and started yelling at her to leave. Rochester police say Conway pulled out a gun, waved it around, then grabbed the woman and pushed her onto the couch.
Conway has now entered an Alford
