Another mall anchor is decreasing its brick-and-mortar footprint.
According to a report by The Street, Dillard’s, the department store chain that operates approximately 300 stores across 29 states, has closed or is shutting down several locations, including its store at The Shops at Willow Bend in Plano, Texas, which will close its doors in January, resulting in 93 layoffs.
And several reports have indicated that more stores are slated for closure in the coming quarter:
Arizona – Metrocenter Mall, Phoenix
Florida – Santa Rosa Mall, Ft. Walton Beach
Nebraska – Conestoga Mall, Grand Island
Earlier shutdowns include:
Tennessee – 1120 Old Fort Parkway in Murfreesboro. Closed in January.
Ohio – Eastwood Mall Clearance Center in Niles. Closed in fiscal 2024.
