SEYMOUR, Conn. (WFSB) - An arrest has been made in a serious case of animal cruelty in Seymour back in late October.
Members from the Woodbridge Regional Animal Control Division responded to a home in Seymour after a report of “possible animal neglect/abuse, ” the police department said.
Following an investigation, it was revealed that the dog was emaciated and severely malnourished.
The Cane Corso’s spine, hip and ribs were described as “protruding.”
Officials said the dog was transported to a facility for life saving medical treatment.
An arrest warrant for the suspect involved in this case was issued by the court and has been identified as 50-year-old Michael Franzese of Seymour.
He is being charged with animal cruelty.
Franzese is being held on a $25,000 bond.
