ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) - The opening ceremony for the Winter Wonderland of Lights begins at 6 o’clock Monday evening.

Displays will be lit up, celebrating the holiday season.

And the fun will go on for several weeks with a number of Christmas-themed events.

The Festival of Trees and Trains begins this weekend.

You can expect other events, such as Winter Wonderland Express train rides and the annual Christmas parade in downtown Ashland.

You’ll also be able to visit with Santa at the Central Park log house.

There is a business decorating contest, and the application deadline is Dec. 5.

Celesta Kouns, director of Visit Ashland KY, said it’s a great feeling seeing all of the new faces and familiar faces who attend the festival each year.
