WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Forsyth County man has been sentenced to over 15 years in federal prison for a 2024 shooting at Hanes Mall that left one man seriously injured, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of North Carolina.
Federal prosecutors say 23-year-old Angelo Addie Reid VI was sentenced to 180 months in prison, followed by three years of post-release supervision. Chief U.S. District Judge Catherine C. Eagles handed down the sentence Monday in Greensboro.
According to court records, the shooting happened on August 14, 2024, after Reid and his girlfriend encountered another mallgoer at Hanes Mall in Winston-Salem. Prosecutors say Reid pulled a gun during an argument and fired a shot that missed, entering a nearby store filled with employees and customers.
