WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A 13-year-old boy has been identified as the victim of a deadly shooting in Winston-Salem over the weekend, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department.

The shooting happened Saturday at 9:33 p.m. at 3550 North Patterson Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound. Police administered life-saving measures before EMS transported the victim to a local hospital, where he later died.

On Monday, police identified the victim as Denori Deshawn McClellan, 13.

WSPD’s Criminal Investigations Division continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Detectives said the incident appears to be isolated and not a random act of violence.
