CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte man is facing charges after federal agents said he rammed multiple law enforcement vehicles during an immigration operation in northeast Charlotte on Sunday afternoon.

DHS posted a video on X showing part of the incident . The video shows a van driver evading numerous Border Patrol agents at a shopping center in University City before driving away.

The driver of the van was identified as 24-year-old Miguel Angel Garcia Martinez, according to an FBI affidavit obtained by WCNC Charlotte. He's charged with felony assault on federal officers using a deadly or dangerous weapon.

Martinez is accused of using his white Dodge Sprinter van to strike a government vehicle carrying federal agents. Investigators alleged that Martinez had been following Border Patrol
