LAGRANGE, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A man is behind bars after he allegedly shot an officer who was responding to a call at a home in LaGrange Sunday night, according to police.
The officer was responding to a call at a home on Glenn Robertson Street around 10 p.m. about a person reportedly beating on the door. Police said a gunshot came through the door and hit the officer in the leg when he “approached the front door and knocked.”
According to police, the officer quickly retreated to safety and ordered the home’s occupants to come out, and they were detained.
Medical officials responded to give treatment to the officer before he was airlifted to a hospital. Police said his injuries “were determined to be non-life-threatening.”
