SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Authorities say a man was fatally struck by a vehicle on Sioux City’s Gordon Drive.

The Sioux City Police Department says at about 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, first responders were sent to the 3300 block of Gordon Drive for a vehicle vs pedestrian accident. This put the accident in the area of the Gordon Drive Hy-Vee.

Once at the scene, police say they found a 71-year-old man in critical condition. He was taken to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators say the man, identified as Keith Richard Weitzel of Sioux City, was walking across Gordon Drive when he was struck by a westbound 2019 Kia Sportage.
