MISSAUKEE COUNTY, MI – A Northern Michigan man is facing 17 felony charges related to alleged sexual assault incidents spanning two counties, police said.
Trevor Vanhaitsma, 25, of Lake City, is lodged in Missaukee County Jail, Michigan State Police announced. He was arraigned last week in 84 th District Court on a long list of felonies.
On June 2, Michigan State Police began investigating Vanhaitsma for alleged sexual assault that occurred at multiple locations in Benzie and Missaukee counties, police said.
He was arrested on Nov. 12. The next day, troopers executed a search warrant at Vanhaitsma’s home and seized evidence that included weapons that were allegedly used during an assault, police said.
